Freckles:
Brownish spots on the skin due to precipitation of pigments or exposure to sun are known as freckles. Freckles appear due to skin sensibility to ultra violet rays.
Freckles come in the category 6f skin disorder not a skin disease. The following home remedies are useful for this disorder:
Grind yellow mustard in milk and apply to the face during the night. Wash your face the next morning.
Mix an equal quantity of turmeric and sesame seeds. Grind in water and apply to the face.
Take a watermelon, make a hole in its rind and introduce some grains of rice in it. Take out the rice after a week. Grind into a paste and apply on the face.
Boils:
This is the most infective skin condition. Boils are the result of deep bacterial infection of hair follicles. They occur in areas covered with coarse hair and are subjected to repeated mild friction, for example, the neck,
buttocks, knees and elbows. A boil starts as a small red painful nodule - increasing in size for a few days and then becoming soft at the top where the skin gives way and discharges pus. Healing occurs leaving a tiny scar. A boil usually takes its own course for a week or so in healing and no treatment may be required. When there are multiple boils or when a boil becomes large or when it is on the central portion of the face, systemic antibiotics are needed to be administered. The infection can spread up to the brain. When the boils tend to occur too frequently the patient should get investigations for any underlying cause like diabetes etc.
If the boil is on the nose or the upper lip, the inside of the nose might get inflamed. Boils may also, sometimes be accompanied by fever. Persons suffering from boils and pustules should follow the following remedies:
Grind the bark of a Neem tree and apply as a paste.
Grind together the bark of the castor tree and the root of Biskhapra (Triathemc monogyna) and apply as a paste.
Keep your bowels clear and avoid sour or fatty foods.
Besides other fruits, do eat melon as it helps clean the bowels and also cleanses the blood.
Take a leaf of the peepal tree, smear it with ghee and apply as a lukewarm bandage on the boil. The boil will burst in its preliminary stages.
Carbuncles
A carbuncle is a group of boils which may later form one very large boil with several openings on skin the surface. Carbuncles are painful particularly in those areas where the skin is closely attached to underlying tissues, such as the nose, ears and fingers. Boils are more likely to occur in healthy young adults and teenagers. These are not only painful, but it may also indicate the presence of some underlying condition, such as diabetes. These seem to occur more frequently in men usually at the back and do not require any treatment. When there are multiple boils or when a boil becomes larger or when it is on the- central portion of the face, systemic antibiotics are needed to be administered after consulting a doctor. The infection can spread to the brain. When the boils tend to occur too frequently, the patient should get investigations for any underlying cause like diabetes etc.

Treatment
Apply warm moist compresses three or four times a day over the tender area. This will help to bring the boil to a head and encourage easy drainage. A large area surrounding the infection should be bathed with a liquid soap solution and then washed off thoroughly. After drying, apply and propel alcohol for 5 minutes, two to three times a day on the skin all around. This will kill germs and prevent further spread of the infection.
