All of us think differently when it comes to acne. Prior to start a treatment for acne it will be a good idea to know some facts regarding acne which not a lot of people know about it.


However, it is highly recommended to consult with a specialist dermatologist rather than starting self-treatment.
Repeated washing
Unnecessarily repeated washing of the acne-affected area will not help in curing acne. It will rather affect it negatively. Washing your face two times a day is enough for your skin. Opposing to widespread belief, dirt is not the major reason behind acne. Rather it is the sebaceous gland that closes down and generates acne for a lot of reasons.
Dietary Habits
According to latest research, no food is responsible to generate acne. If you have a feeling that some foods are responsible to make your acne worse, you can try and stop using that food after taking your dermatologist’s advice. No convincing proof has yet pointed out to acne and its relation with diet.
Medicines
It will be surprising to know that there are certain medicines that can cause and aggravate acne. There are a number of drugs like some kinds of cortisones, certain anti epileptic drugs and anti tuberculosis medicines can also bring acne. Some of the chlorinated solutions may also be responsible for occupational acne.
Oral administration of Vitamin A
Some people use several derivatives of vitamin A, like retinoids orally and topically in order to  acne. But latest research reveals that actually Vitamin A is not a cure to acne. Taking large amounts of Vitamin A, hoping that it will cure acne, will cause adverse effects on your health, and large quantity of Vitamin A will rather have unfavorable effects on the body.
Hormonal Imbalance
Hormonal imbalance brings acne too. Your Androgen hormone causes large amount of sebum production. During their pregnancy a lot of females experience excessive acne outbreaks. Some females get acne problem prior to the onset of their periods. Moreover, someone whose parents have a history of acne, are more likely to have bad skin conditions as well.
