Acne Scar Removal

Acne most often leaves scars. There are various types of scars from severe to mild like keloid scars, ice pick scars, depressed fibrotic scars, soft scars and atrophic macules. Each type of scars has its significant causes and ways to be treated. Keloid scars is a severe form which is indicated as overgrowth of tissues like a lump. It may range in diameter from few millimeter to few centimeter. Most scars are region specific that is they arise on specific area of skin, like ice pick scars arise specifically on cheek.

There are several ways of acne scar removal like surgery, dermabrasion, microdermabrasion, collagen injection, laser treatment, skin grafting etc. Treating acne scars using microdermabrasion kits, collagen injections and laser treatments are most common ways that are effective.

Actually scars forms due to irregular growth of collagen tissues. Collagen injections helps fill the scared areas of your skin and promotes collagen production. When collagen is produced normally, no scar forms there. Though it is an effective method, it is a little painful. Microdermabrasion is easiest method for acne scar removal. Today, microdermabrasion kits are available for performing it at home. The kits are cost effective and you need not to visit dermatologist office for all microdermabrasion sessions. Though it is effective, it requires few sessions to show positive results.
