Smoking Aggravates Acne

There are contradictory issues about whether smoking induces acne or not. Enormous number of studies have been performed. According to some studies, smoking does cause acne breakouts. Smoking increase carbon monoxide level within your body that stimulates sebaceous glands to produce excessive sebum. You know excessive production of sebum ultimately results in clogged hair follicles. Clogged hair follicles restrict continuous discharge of sebum, therefore, small bumps begin to appear.

Most of my friends always ask me how severe are smoking induced acne and taking how many cigarettes may cause acne. I always answer there is no specific quantity, however as a rule of thumb, the more you smoke, the more risky it will be for you to get acne breakouts.

It is also noticed that people who exercise regularly and take cigarettes as well are less prone to develop acne breakouts as compare to those who does not exercise regularly. It can be interpreted in several ways, first, regular exercise expels higher level of carbon monoxide from your blood and supply efficient level of oxygen. Second, regular exercising helps regulate hormone levels as fluctuating level of hormones stimulate sebaceous glands.

Conclusively, avoid smoking if you are developing severe acne breakouts, use suitable skin care lotions for rejuvenation and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.
