Avoiding foods with high glycaemic can reduce acne

Recent studies have suggested that food that is high on glycaemic can help flair up acne. This means that avoiding high glycaemic foods could help acne sufferers clear up their skin, the study writes.High glycaemic foods are those food that cause a sharp increase in blood glucose, or sugar, these include carbohydrates that are low on fiber.

The study showed that after being on a low glycaemic diet for 12-weeks, men with acne had a significant reduction in pimples, whiteheads and other lesions compared with their peers who had stuck to a more conventional diet. The other thing to note is that if you mix foods that are high on GI with those that are low on it will decrease the GI for the whole meal.
