What’s true what’s not. Find out today!

1. Poor Hygiene contributes towards Acne

This myth has two faces. If on one hand improper cleansing aggravates the acne then on the other hand over washing and scrubbing also makes the acne worse.

2. Long Hair Aggravates Acne
Acne has nothing to do with the length of the hair as loon as they are clean and properly maintained. But an improper cleansing of the hair can lead to scalp Acne.

3. Acne affects girls more than Boys
The situation is the other way round. Acne is more common among boys because of the presence of male hormone androgen.

4. Acne is Contagious
Acne is caused either due to dirt, oil, hormones etc. All these things are within the body or skin and so it is not at all contagious.

5. Junk food Aggravates Acne
Eating fried food, chocolates, dairy products etc does not severely affect the acne because the fat present in these foods does not get assimilated to the fats within the oil glands.
