Getting Away with Wrinkles

Wrinkles usually appear on our face at an old age. This is because with age our body produces decreased level of collagen causing the cells of the skin to become thin and loose elasticity. Due to this the skin takes longer to get repaired and healed. Also the fat cells present in the outer layers of our skin which are responsible for making it look supple becomes small and so are unable to fill the gaps created by the damages in the inner layers of the skin. This makes our skin saggy and dry and give rise to wrinkles on our face. Excessive sunlight is also a cause of developing wrinkles because it makes the outer layer of the skin thin and causes collagen to break down more rapidly resulting in loss of elasticity from our skin. Following are some effective ways through which we can prevent the formation of wrinkles in our skin and keep it looking young for longer periods of time:

  1. Protect your skin from getting damaged by excessive Ultra Violet rays.
  2. Maintain a diet rich in fruits, vegetables and fish.
  3. Drink plenty of water and fresh fruit juices to keep your skin hydrated.
  4. Sleep at least eight hours a day.
  5. Don’t take stress as it speeds up the aging process.
  6. Try to quit smoking because it flushes out the essential fluids and nutrients from the body.
