The psychological effects of acne are greater compared to physical effects. Many of you must have passed through the same teen years and know that this is the age when you start exploring relationships and become highly conscious about your physical appearance. This is the time when you give importance to things like Sexuality, body image, fame and individuality. At this age you love to meet new people and make new friends
People suffering from acne do face a social phobia, which is sad but true. Conditions like acne, gives you low self esteem and low self confidence. I know a friend who was always afraid to go out because she was suffering from severe cystic acne. She used to miss school and social activities because she didn’t feel confident enough to face new people. Often she told me how bad she feels when while talking, people start staring at her face.
I have always advised people to be proactive about treating their acne. Remember, for most of you, it’s not going to go away itself. And even if you are lucky enough to get rid of it as you get into your late twenties, the scars and marks it leaves behind never look good. When it starts breaking out, always seek immediate help from a dermatologist. If you are not sure about using prescription based products, for the side effects they bring along, you can try a natural acne treatment product. But the point is to take some action. Don’t just sit and let it ruin your facial beauty.
