March 4th, 2008 No Comments »

The other day, a customer wrote to us with her story about how taking Vitamin C (for some illness) helped with her acne scars. Using lemon juice and other fruits, rich in Vitamin C were always considered good for skin. I am not completely sure if this Vitamin C therapy is going to work equally well for everyone, but since it’s a natural treatment, with no obvious side-effects, there’s no harm in trying it out. You can take Vitamin C through orange juice or simply with the Vitamin C drinks available over the counter. Let me know if it works for you.

There are contradictory issues about whether smoking induces acne or not. Enormous number of studies have been performed. According to some studies, smoking does cause acne breakouts. Hello Guys! How are you? You must be concerned about how to treat acne? Today one of my friend like you has asked about using salicylic acid for treating acne. She wanted to know whether she could use it or not as she had sensitive skin, if she can not use it than what is the effective natural remedy?

Let’s begin with Salicylic Acid!

Salicylic acid is a major component of today’s cosmetics and anti-acne remedies. Salicylic acid helps frequent sloughing off cells for the prevention from clogging hair follicles. As studies show clogged hair follicles due to plaque or shed of cells is the root cause of acne as sebum accumulates within hair follicles in this way. Therefore, salicylic acid a good substances to use for preventing of clogged hair follicles. But it matters when:

  • Your skin is sensitive

  • You are diabetic patient

  • You have poor blood circulation

  • Your are breastfeeding and pregnant women

  • You have kidney problem

  • You have skin infection and irritation

  • Taking certain medications which may interact with salicylic acid

So, you have read, though salicylic acid is effective, it imposes certain restrictions. Therefore, there must be some other natural remedies that are effective, easy to use and safe as well.

I always asked my friends to use natural remedies unless until your doctor prescribes any prescription medication. In general, herbs are effective enough for treating such type of acne. Therefore, choosing a good anti-acne remedy is difficult, but using proven and tested herbs is safe and effective.

How effective are Over the Counter Acne Remedies?

January 30th, 2008 1 Comment »

The Question is a little tricky as effectiveness of any remedy depends upon the individual and its response to a remedy and there are thousands of over the counter acne remedies that you are not aware of what are their ingredients? So, how can we estimate their effectiveness.

I am 29 and has been suffered from worst acne and its related condition since teenage. I have used and tested hundreds of natural to synthetic medications. When i used synthetic medications or prescription medications, I found positive results within few weeks but after few next weeks these medications showed no result and cause irritation to my skin etc.

Then one of my friend asked me to use natural remedies that contains natural ingredients extracted from herbs. She had been suffered acne in her teenage and she successfully get cured by using natural herbs. I asked her what natural herbs you had used in your teenage for so worst acne breakouts, she replied “I used quality over the counter acne remedies that contain natural ingredients from herbs.”

I asked how can I estimate the effectiveness of the drug before purchasing, she replied read reviews on the Internet and buy, surely you will make good decision.

I further asked many other friends and most of them apprised me of the effectiveness, safety and easy use of over the counter acne remedies. One of the friends told me though over the counter acne remedies are slower, they surely cure acne and are safe to use unlike other remedies that are not sure to cure acne and cause worst side effects.

Hello Guys! One of my friends who is 18 year old with severe acne breakouts and lots of scars on his cheeks and chin has been using various cosmetic products for several years. He is very concerned about ugly look of his face and can not attend university lectures as his friends always tend to ask the cause of so worst acne breakouts and look at him strangely. During several years of Internet research, reading reviews and articles on Internet, I conclude that behind so severe breakouts, harsh cosmetic is the only culprit that hurts his skin. Why it hurts and why skin is susceptible to such cosmetics is still unknown, somehow, it is certain that harsh cosmetics that contains oils and oily ingredients are worst for your skin if you have oily skin.

Before using or purchasing any cosmetic product, pay special attentional to:

  • If your skin is oily or dry

  • Are you allergic to any of the ingredients of the product you are buying or using, read the label of the product carefully

  • If you are uncertain about what cause allergic reaction, ask your health care professional

  • If you notice cosmetic irritates your skin, avoid its use immediately

  • Use gentle soaps preferably baby soaps as they do not contain harsh detergents

Therefore, I am happy to share these research tips that I found after years of research. These tips are based on my general study and not an alternative to any medical advice, diagnosis etc. Therefore, these tips are for your awareness only.
