Acne is a skin condition that is dilemma for people of all ages. It can be caused due to several factors ranging from the environment, mental stress to hormonal shifts.
In such cases suffering from acne becomes clearly unavoidable. Therefore the best acne treatment would be to reduce the likelihood of acne breakouts by improving diet and taking constant care for the skin. Over the counter medication are commonly used for treating acne however they can also cause side effects which can make the acne worse. Many organic and therapeutic treatments are easily available, many use homemade remedies to abate the skin problem however the extent of effectiveness is questionable.
The most widely used acne treatment for quickly improving the acne condition is the use of toothpaste. Many consider this to be a faster and efficient method to reduce acne breakouts. On the other hand it is recommended that fluoride toothpaste is not applied on the acne since it can make the acne worse, causes excessive dryness, inflammation and damage the skin. Usually toothpaste a minute quantity of fluoride should be applied. For effective treatment a small amount of toothpaste can be applied onto the affected areas directly and left overnight. This should be applied regularly and applied for longer periods of time to get better results. Before applying the toothpaste the skin should be washed carefully with a mild soap to remove the dirt on the skin surface and to allow the paste to absorb into the skin layers. This would help the skin pores to be unclogged and reduce the secretion of oil and spread of bacteria that is mostly trapped during acne.
In cases where the treatment does not suit the skin other treatment might be a better option. Of course consulting the dermatologist is favorable since they will guide and recommend the right form of treatment based on individual cases and severity of acne condition.
